SHORELINE ORTHODONTICS TRI-K TRIATHLON
IMPORTANT!!!!
Under World Triathlon, Triathlon Canada, and Triathlon BC regulations, it is the onus of the athlete to arrive at the event with a safe, properly maintained and functioning bicycle.

  1. Wetsuits are not permitted. Swimmers will be seeded in heats by their estimated swim time. All swimmers must provide an estimated swim time during registration.
  2. Absolutely no drafting another bike or moving object at any time. Each leg of the race is an individual endurance event. Teamwork which provides you with an advantage over another competitor is not allowed. The minimum distance between bikes is 12 metres unless passing - which must be done within 25 seconds.
  3. Approved (A.N.S.I. or Snell) cycling helmets must be worn in the cycle portion.
  4. Competitors are expected to heed the directions and instructions of all race officials.
  5. Competitors are individually responsible for following traffic laws and are solely responsible for the consequences of any infraction.
  6. It is the cyclist's or legal guardian's sole responsibility to maintain their bikes in good working order.
  7. All swimmers will be required to wear the colour-coded swim cap provided at check-in.
  8. Team swimmer to give the team timing chip to the cyclist at the relay exchange zone/tent in the transition area. Please be familiar with this exchange zone/tent prior to race start. The cyclist will be waiting in the relay exchange zone/tent without their helmet on. Once they receive the timing chip – they can proceed to their transition area, put on their helmet and then remove their bike from the rack and head out to the mount line. Upon return to transition area – the cyclist will return their bike to their designated spot, Rack their bike, remove their helmet, run to the relay exchange zone/tent to give their timing chip to their team runner. The runner can put on the timing chip and head out of the transition run exit onto the run. 
  9. Lost timing chips will result in a fee.
  10. Course marshals have ultimate and final authority and will remove a participant from the race if the participant has violated the rules of the race.
  11. Medical personnel have the ultimate and final authority to remove a participant from the race if he or she is physically incapable of continuing the race without sustaining severe physical damage, injury or loss of life.
  12. Good sportsmanship conduct is expected of all contestants.
  13. The Comox Tri-K Triathlon Society reserves the right to make changes to the course or the rules if they deem necessary.
  14. If an athlete does not pick up his/her race package at registration, he/she may not receive it. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS
  15. Race age is determined as of December 31 of the event year.
